Alex Darbahani – Founder and President
Alex is the integral force in the culture of precision at KLS Transportation. Growing up in Stockholm, Sweden, Alex finished his education overseas with a degree in International Marketing before moving to the U.S. in 1989. Now, Alex manages the continued growth of the company and has recently opened new KLS facilities in New York City, San Francisco, and London.
When he’s not working at the KLS offices Alex likes to spend time with his family and pet dog, travel, and get a racquetball game or two in when he can. “Success is not the key to happiness,” says Alex, “Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”
Samira Ghaffari – CFO/Controller
Samira is responsible for the administrative, financial, and risk management duties at KLS. A mechanical engineer by trade, Samira has first-hand experience in business management, (she previously founded a successful watch manufacturing company), and says she is continually impressed with the KLS team’s dedication and commitment to getting the job done right. “One thing you learn quickly in our industry is that there is never a dull moment and everyday there is something new to learn.” When she’s not working at KLS she enjoys traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with loved ones.
Jack Nissim – VP of Operations
Jack is a 23-year veteran of the transportation industry and an invaluable part of the KLS team. He has a wealth of knowledge about managing large-scale operations for corporate and VIP travelers, and has previously served as Treasurer for the Greater California Livery Association (GCLA), holding the position for nine years.
Nouné Bagdasarian – General Manager and Logistics Director
Nouné oversees all logistics and planning for the KLS team. She is the primary coordinator for large group transfers and for high-profile special events like the Oscars and Grammys. She has been a part of the KLS team for over 15 years and says that every day at KLS brings about new and interesting challenges. She is an avid reader and says what she likes most about her job is the wide variety of people she meets. “I get to work with people from all different walks of life,” she says, “from production companies to fortune 500 executives, and then to brides and event planners. No two days are ever the same.”
Moe Khan – New York Office Manager
Moe initially worked as a chauffeur for KLS before making the move to the office. A quick study, Moe now manages the office for the KLS facility in New York City, and says he is eager to learn more about the transportation business. “The KLS team is like a second family to me,” says Moe. “This is not just a place where you work but a place where you can learn and grow.”
Terry Schwab – VP of Sales and Marketing
Terry has more than 25 years of experience working in corporate sales for transportation companies. He joined the KLS team in 2013 and has been instrumental in the company’s recent growth and expansion into new markets. In his spare time, Terry enjoys playing golf and traveling.
Steven Sandler – Corporate Counsel
Steven advises senior management on company strategies and their implementation. Steven is directly involved in complex business transactions and negotiating critical contracts and participates in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and compliance programs and provides continuing guidance on legal issues and on legal implications of all matters.
